How does the on-line ordering process work?
All the plants listed in the Matatoa Online Plant Catalogue can be requested online via our secure server.
Once you submit your request, we will then get back to you (usually within a few working days) to confirm the availability of the plants you have ordered. We do have a minimum order of $100 worth of plants with an additional $15 administration fee. Due to limited stock numbers grown each season in each separate grade, the plants you request may need to be substituted for the closest available grade, or may have sold out for the season. (The main selling season runs from MAY to SEPTEMBER). To avoid disappointment plants can be ordered and confirmed by us for the following season.
When we get back to you to confirm availability of stock, we also confirm payment and delivery/collection details, which we ask you for during the ordering process.
Ordering plants is simple:
1. Once you have found plants that you would like to order, enter the quantity you would like into the "QTY" field (the default is set to one). (You will see that there are most likely price breaks depending on the quantity ordered. The system will work all this out for you.)
 2. Click the "Add to Order/Request Form" button on the exact line of the plant you are ordering. This product is then saved to your Order/Request Form in the quantity you have selected, and the price is calculated. The item then stays in your Order/Request Form until you either remove it or sent the order to us.
3. If you wish to view and/or edit the products you have in your Order/Request Form you click the link: "You currently have 2 item(s) in your Order/Request Form - click here to view/edit/confirm" that appears between each product and at the top of every page. (See the graphic above). This link only appears if there are products in your Order/Request Form. If your Order/Request Form is empty it will not appear.
 4. The above graphic shows an example of what you see when you view your Order/Request Form. You can view the total price, change quantities and delete items from this page. If you want to add further plants then you must return to the catalogue, find the products you wish to add and click the "Add to Order/Request Form" button for that product.
5. Once you are happy that the products in your Order/Request Form are the ones that you want to order, you click the "Proceed to checkout" button.
6.There are then two steps to complete:
STEP 1 involves the necessary contact and delivery/collection details; and STEP 2 involves payment details.
All payment details are entered via our secure server. You don't have to pay online by credit card. You can also choose any of the following options, during the check-out process:
Cheque sent to us prior to dispatch of plants Cash or EFTPOS (if you are collecting the plants from the nursery. Direct bank account deposit (we will supply details if you choose this option) Credit card by secure website, phone, fax or in person.
7. Once you have completed Step 1 and 2 above, your order is sent to us. We will reply (usually within a few working days) to confirm availability of the plants you have ordered and provide any additional information.
8. You then contact us (by phone, fax or email) to confirm and complete your order.
9. The goods are then paid for (according to the payment arrangements made during the ordering process), and then either dispatched by us, or collected by you, again depending on the arrangements made during the ordering process.
If you have any questions, please click here to send us an email (info@matatoa.co.nz) or phone (06) 362-7477.
Understanding Container Codes
Listed below is information on what the codes for containers are referring to.
The 'Grade' is the height range (in cm) that the plant is intended to be suplied at, in its respective container. At times, depending on whether we are at the beginning or the end of the selling season, plants may be larger than the height listed, or perhaps smaller. If smaller, we aim to provide this information at the time of confirming plant availability.
