| We're Sorry, But After 3 Decades..
the Matatoa Tree & Shrub Retail Centrewill be CLOSED from SUNDAY 28 NOVEMBER
Yes, the time has come after 3 decades for Chris and Jen to take some time out for other projects and to do things differently for a while. As a result we will be closing from 28 November and we will not be reopening the display area next May.
However, we will be maintaining a reduced offering of stock on our website and we will be contactable by email. Additionally, for a limited time over the next planting season, (June, July and August 2011) we will be supplying plants from our own stocks and from other selected growers. - Small order limits will apply.
WILLOWS AND POPLARS
Production of our willow and poplar nursery will be maintained offering a range of Poles, Stakes and Cuttings - Available June - August only). Advanced orders are encouraged.
POHUTUKAWA
We will also have a substantial offering of Pohutukawa stock, including good numbers of Metrosideros 'Maori Princess' in various grades and ages up to large specimens for instant landscaping.
Our apologies to all of our keen customers regarding this closure and we would sincerely like to thank all of our regular, new, and previous customers for their patronage over the years.
ONLY TWO MONTHS LEFT..... Don't Miss Out
Don't delay in getting your trees and shrubs purchased and into your garden - only TWO MORE MONTHS available for you to get top quality stock from our display centre in Shannon. Gates close as at 4.30pm on Saturday 27 November and future purchases will only be available via our website.
MORE STOCK TO CHOOSE FROM
Unfortunately we have been too busy to add to our website the new plant addtions that we have been supplying since our website was updated for the season in May. We have made an excel spreadsheet with prices and descriptions of these extra plants. You can click on the link below to see what is still available as at 25 September 2010.
If you haven't seen our original offering you can see the on line catalogue that was posted earlier this season here...

What became of Nick?
Many of you enquire after our friendly, driver / nurseryman / tree planter. Well you will now find Nick busy as a Sailing / Boating instructor at the Port Nicholson Sailing Academy. So if you want to learn how to sail, or go sailing on Wellington Harbour go and check him out next to the Freyberg Pool or visit their website at www.rpnyc.org.nz for more information.
The truck is still on the road delivering regularly, but it will be Chris you see at the wheel for the remainder of our season.
Looking forward to seeing you in Shannon before 28 November and we will keep you posted as to what comes next...
Wishing you successful gardening....
Chris and Jen Hathaway.
